  • How do I know if I am eligible to purchase HolidayGuard?
    HolidayGuard is open to sale worldwide except in the US, Canada, Nigeria & India. However, nationals of these countries residing elsewhere may purchase the our single or annual multi trip insurance. Back To Questions
  • What is a deductible?
    A deductible, also know as excess amount, is the amount that the insurer will deduct before paying out on a claim. This amount varies based on the type of claim, for instance; the deductible for medical claims is anywhere from $100 to a over $1000, where as the deductible for personal effects tend to be $250 or less. As an example, lets say your medical insurance deductible is $500 and you put in a claim for $900 - you will only be paid $400. The lower the cost of premium, the higher the deductible will be, so be wary of cheap travel insurance premiums! Back To Questions
  • Is Off-Piste Skiing covered?

  • How do I cancel and refund my Travel Insurance Policy?
    Once the certificate is issued it is not refundable. The reason for this is because your are covered for travel cancellation from the moment you purchase the travel insurance. Back To Questions
  • Does Your Winter Sports Insurance cover Piste closure?
    Yes, our Ski Insurance cover does cover you in the event of piste closure for up to USD 750/-. Please read the section 11 & 12 of out Policy Document. Back To Questions
  • What if I want to extend my trip beyond the 60 days allowed within your Annual Travel Insurance policy?
    With our Annual Multi Trip Insurance you can extend your stay by purchasing a single trip policy for the additional days you intend to stay. However, you must Contact Us as with your requirements. Back To Questions
  • On an Annual Multi Trip, am I allowed to change my country of residence?
    Normally yes, provided your new country of residence is not the US, Canada, Nigeria or India. However, you must Contact Us before purchasing the policy as limitations may apply based on the changes you require. Back To Questions
  • What are your age-bands for travellers?
    Our age bands are as follows:
    ADULT: Anyone who has completed their 18th birthday and not completed their 66th birthday at the date of purchase.
    CHILD: Anyone who has completed their 4th birthday and not completed their 18th birthday at the date of purchase.
    INFANT: Anyone who has not completed their 4th birthday at the date of purchase.
    SENIORS (Single Trip): Anyone who has completed their 66th birthday and not completed their 75th birthday at the date of purchase.
    SENIORS (Annual Multi Trip): Anyone who has completed their 66th birthday and not completed their 70th birthday at the date of purchase.

  • Can I purchase HolidayGuard after i have started travel?
    No, the travel insurance must be purchased before you depart from your country of residence and should has to be for the entire duration you are out of the country. Your journey must start and finish in your country of residence. Back To Questions
  • Are there any countries that I may not travel to
    HolidayGuard covers you for travel to anywhere in the world as long as you have paid the appropriate premiums. However, you must read the and understand all the exclusions, especially the general exclusions stated in the Policy Document. Back To Questions
  • How does the "repartriation" under travel medical insurance work?
    In the event you have to be repatriated due to medical reasons; you will be repatriated to your country of residence and NOT to your country of origin unless you are residing in your country of origin.. For e.g. if you are a Australian Expat resident in Singapore and had to be repatriated whilst on a trip to Fiji; you will be repatriated to Singapore and NOT Australia. Back To Questions
  • Does HolidayGuard Travel Medical Cover cover pre-exiting conditions?
    Our travel medical insurance does not extend to pre-existing conditions. Most travel insurance companies do not cover pre-exisiting conditions. Back To Questions
  • Is pregnancy covered by HolidayGuard?
    Only if pregnancy occurs after the purchase of the policy. Travel Insurance does not extend to pregnancy if you are already pregnant at the time of purchasing your travel insurance cover. Back To Questions
  • Does HolidayGuard provide cover for Domestic Travel?
    YES! Our single and annual multi trip covers provides domestic travel insurance for travel within your country of residence. However, the trip must be over 150 kms from your home and must include pre-booked hotel accommodation. Back To Questions
  • How can I extend my travel insurance cover?
    Once the travel insurance certificate has been purchased the only way to extend the cover it is to purchase an additional one. However, this would required written permission from our underwriters. We usually respond to such requests within one working day.
